5-Pin Modules

6ss Series

Description:

The C6SS series of 5 pin solid state protector modules are designed to provide superior transient and power fault protection for most Secondary or "Off-hook" applications. The characteristics of the SIDACTOR solid state protector are far superior to conventional solid state technology in speed of response to faults and are virtually immune to overshoot, aging, and repeated tripping within rated limits. Normal breakdown voltage operation for the C6SS is 60 - 95 VDC (nominal 80 VDC).

Application:

The C655 series is well suited to SLIC (Subscriber Line Interface Circuit) applications and other similar secondary protection requirements where the ring voltages are not seen (Off-hook state). Other potential applications are with purely digital line applications such as ISDN. In SLIC protection applications, a pair of diodes is required to steer positive voltages to ground.
